1. What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Email address and password (for your account)
  • Video clips and files you upload
  • Metadata you create or edit

We also collect usage data automatically (page views, feature usage) to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the ClipMeta service
  • To generate AI metadata from your uploaded clips
  • To communicate with you about your account
  • To improve the service

3. Your Uploaded Content

Your video clips are stored securely in Cloudflare R2 cloud storage and used only to provide the ClipMeta service. We do not harvest uploaded footage, sell or license clips, use customer uploads as training data for AI models, or share clips with third parties for dataset building, model training, resale, or licensing.

To generate metadata, ClipMeta may send selected frames from your video to OpenAI through their API. OpenAI does not use API customer content to train their models by default under their API terms.

Source video files are stored only as needed for the ClipMeta workflow, such as reviewing, regenerating metadata, exporting, or transferring files. The active Cloudflare R2 lifecycle removes source uploads after 21 days. Completing or deleting a project can remove them earlier. Generated metadata and thumbnails can remain available in your account.

Access to customer source files is restricted to authorized administrative tools. When an administrator requests a source-file preview, ClipMeta records the administrator, object, purpose, and access time before issuing a temporary signed link.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Supabase -- database and authentication
  • Cloudflare R2 -- file storage
  • OpenAI -- AI metadata generation from video frames
  • Vercel -- application hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights)
  • Microsoft Clarity -- anonymous heatmaps and session replay to understand how people use the site. Passwords and form fields are masked. See Clarity's terms and Microsoft's privacy statement.
  • Meta Conversions API -- paid advertising measurement. ClipMeta sends confirmed account registrations attributed to Meta ads and first paid subscription purchases with hashed matching identifiers. Registration measurement respects saved opt-outs and browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals. We do not send uploaded footage or generated metadata. See Meta's privacy policy.
  • Reddit Pixel -- conversion tracking for paid advertising. See Reddit's privacy policy.
  • Google Ads -- conversion tracking for paid advertising. See Google's privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain account data, generated metadata, and thumbnails for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Source video uploads are removed after 21 days by the active storage lifecycle, or earlier when a project is completed or deleted. You can delete your account from account settings or contact us for help. Account deletion removes the account and associated ClipMeta records subject to limited legal, security, billing, and backup retention requirements.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted storage, row-level security on our database, and secure authentication. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
